There are four core steps to go from zero to revenue that you need to know:
Step 1: Who Are You Serving
While what you do can probably help a lot of people, ironically you will serve more people when you narrow your focus to meeting the needs of a specific niche. Here's a quick template to get you started: I help [define a person type & time frame], [who want...(accomplish what specific, desired outcome)].
Example: I help [smart but frustrated coaches], [who want more clients, income, & impact]
Step 2: What Pressing Problem Are You Solving For Them
Now that you know "who" you serve, the next step is identifying the pressing problem they already have expressed they desperately want solved.
Here's where you'll need to do a little research on your own. Survey your email list, read the most common questions asked in forums related to your niche, study the sales pages of your compeditors products & services, study the headlines and sub-headlines on the most popular magazines that serve your niche.
Then make a decision as to which "1" you will focus on solving for your niche.
Step 3: Validate Before You Create
Here's where you will want to make sure that who you serve is actually interested in what you have to offer. To do this you have two options:
Option 1: create an irresistable FREEBIE that directly relates to the main offer and give it away in exchange for your prospects name and email. This is how you will build an email list for your offer right out of the gate. If a good number of people are opting onto your list for your related FREEBIE, it's highly probable that they will be interested in your paid offer.
Option 2: Email your existing audience list, or if you have access to another person's email audience list, reach out to them and invite them to immediatley pay you at the lowest "beta" price for your offer. Again, have them optin on your email list and then direct them to a payment page.
The best way to validate that people want what you have to offer is to ask them to pay for it even before it is created.
Side Note: Once you see people saying YES with their money, you'll be even more motivated to get your offer created!
Step 4: Win Before You Begin
This is a simple concept that I teach to all of my clients. Once you are clear on who your serve, the problem you solve, and validating that there is, in fact an active interest have people simply register and pay before they play.
In our culture we are all used to paying for things before we actually get them. The only exception is fine dinning at a restuarant. Outside of that we are used to paying for tickets to events, enrollment into classes, buying things online etc., before anything is delivered.
Bottom line: It's perfectly fine to ask people to pay for your course, program, or service before you create them. In fact, I strongly recommend that you make this your regular practice. To win before you begin means getting your clients to finance the actual creation of your offer. Here, you get paid to create your product.
